Grammar
Grammar classes for all levels are offered using the world renowned Betty Schrampfer Azar series of grammar books. Students receive a solid foundation from which they can confidently use English grammar in a spoken and written context. Particular attention is paid to verb tenses, making sure every student masters the present, past and future tenses. Interesting games and role playing done in the classroom reinforce written exercises done at home.
Reading for Academic Purposes
Participants will learn the skills that are crucial to successful academic reading, such as previewing, skimming, scanning and clustering, in order to complete homework and timed reading tests. Vocabulary increases as students learn strategies to infer the meanings of words in context.
Book Club
Language Link’s book clubs help students improve reading comprehension and expand vocabulary. Summarizing skills are taught through oral and written assignments. Students increase confidence in speaking by discussing their thoughts and opinions in a fun and supportive setting.
